Storage that respects your craft.
MediaLocker is real S3 storage, built for the people who actually make the media — filmmakers, motion designers, photographers, and AI-art creators who were tired of overpaying for storage and fearing the egress bill.
We started MediaLocker with a simple frustration: cloud storage for creative work is either eye-wateringly expensive the moment you download your own files, or it's a consumer drive that was never built for terabytes of RAW, ProRes, and layered project files. Neither respects the craft — or the wallet.
So we built the thing we wanted: genuine, S3-compatible object storage with a media-native layer on top. Auto-generated thumbnails, inline video scrubbing, sets and variants, and search that actually finds the shot — over real buckets you fully control. Honest per-gigabyte pricing, and downloads that are always free.
We're a company based in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, and we build in the open. The MediaLocker application is open source and self-hostable, released under the AGPL-3.0 license — so you're never locked in, and you can always run it on your own infrastructure. Our hosted service just makes that effortless.
Free egress isn't a promo
It's the pricing. Storage is billed; downloads aren't. Upload a terabyte, pull it a hundred times — same bill. We meter bandwidth for fair use, and we never charge for it.
Real S3, not a lookalike
Genuine buckets, real API keys, SigV4 auth. aws-cli, boto3, rclone, Terraform — the tools you already use point at your MediaLocker endpoint and just work. No rewrites, no lock-in.
You own your media
Your files, your keys, your library. We run no AI on your media and never sell your data. Prefer to run it yourself? The core is open source and self-hostable.
Honest, predictable pricing
A flat rate per gigabyte, capacity you can add any time — prorated to the day — and an optional spend cap so a busy month never turns into a surprise bill.
